I thought you folks back home would be interested in price-comparing SA grocery items to those in Canada.
Or, at the very least, my fellow bargain hunters from Winnipeg will enjoy scouting out the goods ;)
I have found that prices here have a very arbitrary way of either being much more (or less) expensive compared to North America. Obviously fruit will be cheaper, but then random items such as yogurt and hot dogs are also inexpensive.
Check out this list of common grocery items and see first-hand how popular grocery items compare.
Leave a comment if you have a specific request and I will head over to Pick n' Pay and price it out for you!

Oh my Gosh Marie!!! Send me nectarines!!!!! For 4 here in the UK, at Marks and Spener's (a more upper scale place to buy food and clothing, but they have the BEST nectarines) is it £4.60 or something. that's $7+ dollars!
haha I totally would Larissa... if only the shipping didn't cost about 100 times the value of the fruit! Miss you lots. Look forward to more comments from your lovely self :)
That's ridiculous. EVERYTHING is cheaper than here (Also, I'm assuming that Winnipeg comment was directed my way... Because I'm cheap).
Have you found anything that costs more?
